A note on why the San Fernando Valley Pulse exists, what it will cover, and who it is being built for.

I am a networker by nature. Over the years, working alongside small businesses across the San Fernando Valley, I kept noticing the same thing: there is a thriving, interconnected business community here that rarely gets covered on its own terms. Not from the outside looking in -- from the inside, where the real conversations happen.

That observation turned into a mission. San Fernando Valley Pulse is my fresh take on local business media -- built from the perspective of someone who has been in the room, at the events, and behind the scenes with the people who make this Valley run.

This is not a directory or a press release board. It is coverage with a genuine point of view, built for and by the Valley business community. I'd like it to be a local business coverage from inside the community.

I will be honest - this is post one, and we are just getting going. But if you have been part of my network for any amount of time, you already know this has been a long time coming. The people who show up at the beginning are the ones who shape what something becomes. I am glad that it's you.

Here is what I am building toward:

⭐️ Valley Voices

Profiles and interviews with the people behind local businesses -- their stories, pivots, and defining moments.

⭐️ New Faces

Features on businesses in their first month -- before the noise of growth sets in.

⭐️ Networking Notes

Event recaps, previews, and best practices for building real professional relationships in the Valley.

⭐️ AI Decoded

Honest, practical guidance on how AI tools actually apply to small business -- no hype, no jargon.

⭐️ Tools and Resources

The foundations: websites, SEO, social media, and brand visibility done right.

⭐️ Featured Events & Sponsors

Paid placement for businesses ready to be seen by a local, engaged audience.

One section I want to speak about directly: AI Decoded.

Artificial intelligence is one of the most talked-about and least understood topics in small business right now. The noise is loud, the fear is real, and most of the advice out there is either too technical to act on or too vague to mean anything. AI Decoded exists to change that -- honest, plain-language coverage of how AI tools actually work and where they genuinely help small businesses move faster and smarter. Alongside the editorial coverage, I am developing AI Without Fear, an upcoming webinar series built specifically for local business owners who want practical guidance without the overwhelm. More details on that soon.

And the Pulse will not stay only on the screen. In the coming months, I am launching in-person networking meetups at rotating locations throughout the Valley -- because some conversations are better had face to face.

If you are building something here, this publication is being built for you. I am glad you found it at the start.

The Valley business community is already gathering. The SFV Pulse is just getting started -- and the best way to follow along is straight to your inbox.
